Student Page
IALE(UK) promotes a friendly forum for postgraduates to share ideas, discuss issues and meet like-minded people. Postgrads are ensured the opportunity to present work at the annual conferences and financial support is offered for attendance at both IALE and other related conferences.
Annual subscription for students is £10. For this you will receive newsletters, discounts on conference attendance, information on student events and the opportunity to apply for additional funding to attend relevant conferences.
If you have any questions or ideas, please contact the IALE(UK) student representative:

Postgraduate Workshop
We are planning the next IALE (UK) Postgraduate event. What's at the top of your wish list for the focus of this workshop. Research methods? Techniques, tools and programmes? Theoretical discussion? What next after PhD? Something else? Any thoughts or ideas would be gratefully received by Nicola McHugh (nmchugh [at] brookes [dot] ac [dot] uk).
Student Conference Travel Award (SCTA)
The IALE(UK) awards a number of travel grants each year to students with an interest in landscape ecology. The award is open to all students registered at a UK University who are attending a taught course at Masters level or are undertaking a degree by research. In general, awards are designed to assist postgraduate students to attend the annual conference of IALE(UK) and for research postgraduates to travel to other meetings, including the European and International Meetings of the IALE. Funds of up to £250 can be applied for. Successful applicants will be expected to provide a short report of their conference attendance for the IALE(UK) newsletter.
Students should use the SCTA application form (below) and send it to:

Geographical Information Resources
An outcome of our last post-grad meeting was the request for some information on what GI resources are out there.
