Landscape Ecology and Conservation
Conference Registration Now Open
IALE (UK) is pleased to announce the topic for the 2008 conference: Landscape Ecology and Conservation. The conference will be held between 8th - 11th September 2008 at Cambridge University.
Conference sessions to include:
- Conservation in Farmed Landscapes
- Dispersal in Fragmented Landscapes
- Culture and Landscapes
- Distribution and Fragmented Landscapes
- Theory Into Practice: Landscape Ecology Being Used to Conserve Habitats and Species
The field trip will visit the Great Fen Project and Wicken Fen. These areas are recreating wetland landscapes in the Fenland of East Anglia near to Cambridge. They are part of the largest wetland restoration anywhere in Europe. Each is being managed in a different way to create habitats over the next one hundred years, but hopefully faster than this!
